Where do I collect my order from?

We have two locations for collections.

Khaos Cakery at 18 Manukau Road, Epsom.

This is our production kitchen where all of our magic is made.
Collections at this location are by appointment only.

 

Khaos Cartel at 64 Rodney Street, Howick.

This is our epic Eatery which stocks our insanely good cabinet range 7 days a week! Collections are also available from this store.

 

How much are your cakes?

Each cake price is different.

You can check our online store to get a guide on sizes and pricing.  For custom cakes the price depends on the size, style, decorations etc.

 

How can I order a custom cake?

Head to the custom cakes tab and fill out our form.

Make sure to include the cake size/ serving amount and the theme.

The more information the better for us so we can get a quote back to you as soon as possible.

 

Do you create fondant cakes?

No we don’t, we work exclusively with delicious buttercream and ganache to cover and decorate our cakes.

 

When should I order my cake?

Our website range of cakes require 4 days minimum notice.
For custom cakes we require at least 2 weeks’ notice.  However, earlier the better!
We only have limited space and storage for our cakes so we can get booked out on any one date weeks – months in advance, especially in wedding season!

 

Do you make novelty and carved cakes?

We do not, however, we can still create an amazing cake with your theme in mind.

 

Do you offer delivery?

We sure do! This is an option at the checkout.

 

Do you offer wedding cake/ Cake tastings and consults?

We believe your wedding is so special and a consultation is the best way to discuss your visions and designs and for us to make your process so much easier.

We offer cake samples for you to taste or take away.

We also have relationships with some wonderful venues as well as some very talented local businesses that can make your special day come to life.

Do you cater to dietary requirements?

Yes we do.  We offer a gluten free cake option, and egg free option by request.  We do not offer dairy free or vegan cakes.
We also do not make sugar free cakes.

 

Do I have to pay upfront for my cake order?

For our online cake range – yes you do.

For custom cake orders, you must pay the full invoice amount at least 14 days prior to your collection day.  This will ensure your cake is booked in with us.
If there is no payment received then your order will be cancelled.

 

How should I transport my cake after collection?

Your cake will come with instructions attached to the box and we will discuss this with you.

Your cake must be picked up from the base – do not press your hands onto the sides of the cake box.

 

It is best transported on a flat level surface such as the passenger side floor or the car boot.  You may need a towel to be placed underneath to provide a non slip surface.

Make sure the air conditioning is nice and cool.

 

Do I have to refrigerate my cake when I get home/ to the venue?

Yes you do. It’s best for the cake to be stored in the fridge until required.
Our cakes are best eaten at room temperature.
we recommend taking out of the fridge 2 hours prior to serving.
If the cake is needed for a display make sure it’s out of the sun in a cool room.
Eating the cake at room temperature is optimal for flavour and texture.

 

How long will I be able to store my cake for?

If you happen to have left over cake after an event it can be stored in an airtight container or cling wrap in the fridge for up to 7 days.

You can also freeze your cake for up to 3 months.
